At Sponge, we are always looking for talented elearning and web developers, but what can you expect if you joined the team? Here’s an insight from one of our newly-appointed Elearning Developers about what attracted him to Sponge and how his new roles is progressing.

How have you found your first few weeks working at Sponge as an elearning developer?
The first few weeks here at Sponge were fun! I met the team and was lucky that I started near Christmas which meant lots of cakes and parties.
How have you found the working environment at Sponge?
I’ve found it a relaxed, fun and friendly environment to work in.
What attracted you to work for Sponge?
I’ve always wanted to work for an elearning company and was lucky to join Sponge as it’s one of the leading companies in the elearning industry. Sponge has a good reputation for being accountable and committed to the team.
Favourite coding platform/authoring tool?
I enjoy working with HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. When I joined Sponge I was introduced to the Adapt elearning platform and that has enabled me to work with my favourite technologies.
Sponge is a key contributor in developing Adapt, and I have found it challenging and fun to work with. I have been given the chance to explore the platform, learn how to build components within it and contribute to developing it further.
As an elearning developer, favourite project you have worked on so far?
Working every day at Sponge is challenging and fun due to the variety of projects I engage with. From building elearning web components to creating game components for Adapt, I have enjoyed each and every project.
How do you see your career progressing at Sponge?
I can see myself being here for a long period to progress my knowledge and skills even further.
Belal's top tips for a great working day?
- Having a new challenge with different tasks and different clients to deal with.
- Learning new techniques and ways to develop elearning modules.
- Being part of a rewarding and relaxed work environment.
- Lots of cake and fun!
