An expert-led webinar will challenge the pharmaceutical industry to revisit the concept of patient centricity in digital learning to inspire empathy and enhance engagement across its entire workforce.
The live session on Wednesday, May 10th at 2.30pm (BST) will offer practical advice and real-life examples of maximising patient centricity in pharmaceutical Learning & Development (L&D) strategies.
How to humanise pharmaceutical learning: engage, excite, empower, is led by Dr Claire Smart, Pharmaceutical & Life Sciences Specialist at Sponge.
“Patient centricity can be overlooked by pharma companies in training programmes,” said Smart. “The pharmaceutical industry prides itself on becoming more patient focused in recent years but this is typically being led by drug development and marketing engagement; traditional training approaches mean that internal L&D activities are in danger of getting left behind."
Dr Smart argues that the full potential of patient centricity to deliver better value for the industry will only be realised if all employees, including those in non-customer facing roles, are part of the culture shift.
The webinar will look at how creative and person-centred approaches in digital learning can humanise the patient experience to improve engagement and achieve better outcomes.
Julie Wedgwood, Head of Learning Design at Sponge will be joining the session to share her extensive experience on digital learning design.
Pharmaceutical professionals will learn:
- How empathy can create a patient-centric culture in pharma learning
- Why going digital is about adding more emotion, not less
- Where technology is opening up new opportunities to bring the patient experience to life
- Which digital learning approaches work best to engage, excite and empower employees
Dr Claire Smart has a PhD in vascular physiology/immunology with more than 16 years’ experience in medical education, scientific communications and strategic planning for the pharmaceutical industry.
Her new white paper, Why pharma needs an emotional reboot: Patient centricity revisited, compliments the webinar by exploring the wider concept of empathy in healthcare and the value of patient centricity in pharmaceutical training and communications.
Sponge is one of Europe’s leading providers of digital learning programmes, working with some of the biggest pharma companies including Roche, GSK, Novo Nordisk and AstraZeneca.
It is free to register for the webinar.
