Liam O’Meara, Sponge’s Head of Sales and Marketing hosted the session. “It’s about releasing the value of your existing content so you keep the key learning points while refreshing it for modern technology and learner preferences, rather like upcycling old or unwanted furniture,” explains Liam. 

“In the webinar, we looked at why you need to intervene to prevent old elearning courses being consigned to the delete bin of history and explain why a direct conversion to a new technology may not always be the best way to tackle the challenge. Our aim is to help learning professionals see legacy elearning as an opportunity rather than a headache.”    

Elearning courses created using older technology have been overtaken in recent years by more responsive and agile tools that are better able to meet the needs of the modern workforce.  One of the most widespread legacy technologies is Adobe Flash, which is being phased out by the end of 2020.

The 30-minute webinar includes insights from Sponge’s Adam Bartlett about his work on a major legacy elearning project for an international fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) company. Also offering expertise is Thomas Beale, Business Development Manager at Sponge, who has experience of content conversions projects across a wide range of sectors.

The webinar covers:

  • Understanding the benefits of updating legacy elearning courses
  • Solving the challenges of large-scale content conversion
  • Identifying ways to rethink old elearning for modern audiences
  • Learning from best practice examples at leading organisations
